Kamusta Ka? A Mental Health and Wellness Event
DATE: 10 November 2024
VENUE: The Women’s Lounge
SPEAKER: Crisel Consunji, Auntie Academy and Baumhaus HK
One of the highlights of the event was the friendly and safe atmosphere that Crisel created for our scholars to express themselves. Crisel pointed out tools like neuro linguistic programming (NLP) as a concept to better understand how beliefs shape values and ultimately, our behavior. Scholars were able to articulate their own experiences from their childhood and how they think their beliefs and upbringing made an impact on their adulthood.
Finally, Crisel demonstrated that mental health is not a topic that is easily tackled in 2 hours. Just like a food diet or physical activities, being “mentally healthy” needs to be exercised using tools that let us set personal boundaries, communicate more assertively, and take care of our thoughts and words since they can become our realities.
